What is the Disc Centrifuge Working Principle

The Disc Centrifuge is mainly composed of inlet and outlet device, drum, cover, vertical shaft, horizontal shaft, machine base, motor and automatic control box. The working principle of the disc centrifuge is as follows:

Disc Centrifuge

1. Using the principle of different densities and immiscible light phase, heavy phase or solid phase in the mixed liquid (mixed corrosion liquid), different sizes of centrifugal force in the centrifugal force field are used to generate different sedimentation velocities to achieve separation and stratification. Or the purpose of settling solid particles in a liquid.

2. The disc separator is a vertical centrifuge, the drum is installed on the upper end of the vertical shaft, and is driven by a motor to rotate at a high speed through a transmission device. Inside the drum is a set of disc-shaped parts, called discs, which are nested with each other. There is a small gap between the disc and the disc.

3. The separated mixed oil is smoothly and evenly input into the drum of the heart part of the machine. Under the action of a strong centrifugal force field generated by high-speed operation, the mixed oil passes through the separation interval of a set of disc bundles, and the neutral hole of the disc is used as the center. At the interface, the heavy phase with larger specific gravity (such as phospholipids, soapstock, etc.) moves along the disc wall to the outside of the neutral hole, and the heavy slag (such as sludge) accumulates in the sediment area and is automatically discharged out of the machine periodically. The light phase (such as grease) with smaller specific gravity moves upward along the disc wall to the top of the drum, and is output by the light phase centripetal pump to the next process, while the heavy phase is discharged by the heavy phase centripetal pump.
