How to Maintain a Trommel Screen II

Shutdown Maintenance:
When shutting down the machine, ensure there is no grain left inside the trommel drum. Feeding should be stopped first, and only after the grain inside the drum has been fully discharged should the machine be powered off.

Screen Hole Cleaning Mechanism:
The external drum is equipped with a set of specially designed steel brushes for cleaning the screen holes. Regular cleaning should be performed based on the condition of the screen surface. When cleaning is required, simply adjust the counterweight of the cleaning mechanism to activate it.

Long-Term Shutdown:
If the machine is not in use for an extended period, ensure that the body and screen surface are thoroughly cleaned and protected against corrosion.

The Trommel Screen utilizes centrifugal force efficiently, offering a higher processing capacity than a vibrating screen and enabling continuous long-term operation. However, timely maintenance is essential. The key maintenance areas include:

  • Inspection and cleaning of the screen surface

  • Inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of rotating components

  • Inspection and maintenance of the dust removal system

During operation, pay attention to screen protection:

  • Feed material evenly and avoid overloading

  • Prevent hard objects such as stones or bricks from entering the drum

  • Keep the screen surface clean, free from deformation, and ensure no abnormal leakage of grain

Regular cleaning and lubrication of key power transmission components—such as the motor, main bearings, chains, and belts—are also essential for reliable operation.
