(III) Filtration Process for Plate and Frame Filter Press

Open the filtrate outlet valve, start the feed pump, and gradually open the feed valve while adjusting the return valve. The filtration pressure should gradually increase according to the filtration speed, generally not exceeding 0.6 MPa. At the beginning, the filtrate may appear turbid, then gradually become clear.
- If there is significant leakage between filter plates, slightly increase the tightening force of the middle pressure plate.
- However, due to the capillary effect of the filter cloth, a small amount of filtrate seepage is normal and can be collected in a tray.
Monitor the filtrate. If it becomes turbid, in open-flow mode, close the corresponding outlet valve and continue filtration. In closed-flow mode, stop the machine and replace the damaged filter cloth. When the feed liquid is completely filtered or the filter chamber is full of filter cake and can no longer continue filtration, the filtration process is complete.

(IV) Completion of Filtration

Stop the feed pump and close the feed valve.
To discharge the filter cake, press the motor reverse button to retract the middle pressure plate.
Remove the filter cake, clean the filter cloth, filter plates, and frames thoroughly, and stack them neatly to prevent deformation.
- Alternatively, place them back into the filter press and tighten them with the pressure plate to maintain shape.
- Clean the work area and machine frame to keep them tidy, and disconnect the external power supply.
