Mechanical bar screens are used in large-scale wastewater treatment plants, offering a high degree of automation. Common types include chain-driven, wire rope-driven, and others.

Selection Guide:

→ Based on Water Quality Characteristics:

High Sand Content → Wire Rope-Driven Type
High Fiber Content → High Chain Type
Suspended Particles:
- Fine → Rotating Rake Teeth Type
- Coarse → Rotating Arm Type

→ Based on Treatment Scale:

< 10,000 m³/day → Manual Screen Cleaning
> 50,000 m³/day → Mechanical Screen Cleaning + Intelligent Control System

Operation and Maintenance Technical Specifications

Screening Residue Management:
For coarse bar screens, the residue volume is approximately 0.03–0.1 m³ per 1,000 tons of water. A screw press should be used for dewatering.
Flow Control Through Bar Screen:
Flow velocity should be maintained between 0.6–1.0 m/s. Alarm threshold for water level difference should be ≤ 20 cm.
Anti-Corrosion Requirements:
Submerged components must be made of 316L stainless steel or treated with hot-dip galvanization plus epoxy coating.
