What is Mechanical Bar Screen

The rotary mechanical bar screen is a device designed for continuous automatic removal of various solid materials from liquids, aimed at solid-liquid separation.

Working Principle

When the rake tooth chain reaches the top of the equipment, guided by a sprocket and curved track, each set of rake teeth performs a relative self-cleaning motion. Most solid materials fall off due to gravity, while the remaining debris is removed by the reverse motion of the cleaner.

The rake tooth chain, similar to a bar screen, has gaps between the rake teeth that can be adjusted based on operating conditions. As the rake teeth remove solid suspended materials from the fluid, the water can flow smoothly. The entire operation can be either continuous or intermittent.

Main Structure

The rotary bar screen primarily consists of a drive unit, rake mechanism, and cleaning mechanism. A unique set of rake teeth is assembled into a rotary bar screen chain. Driven by the motor and reducer, the rake tooth chain rotates against the water flow.

Technical Specifications & Model Selection

Equipment specifications are classified by width, from HG300-1500. If the width exceeds 1500mm, parallel machines are used. Bar gaps come in various sizes such as 1mm, 3mm, 5mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm. The gap size is selected based on the water flow, lifting height, total solid-liquid separation volume, and the shape and particle size of the separated materials. Rake teeth can be made of ABS engineering plastic, nylon, or stainless steel, and the main frame can be made of stainless steel or corrosion-resistant carbon steel based on user requirements.
